Rebecca Burkeen Rebecca began her career with Latin Beat as an intern in the mid-nineties while she finished her BA in Bilingual Education at the University of San Diego in California. She is now an editor and writer for the magazine while residing in Portland, Oregon with her husband and two young daughters. Rebecca juggles her busy family life with teaching Spanish at a private high school and her Latin Beat duties. Rebecca's first passion is performing in theater and dance; aside from theatrical productions, she was most recently a dancer for the Portland Blazers and danced for the San Diego Chargers before that. Rebecca is thrilled about the new LBMO.com website and her opportunity to cover the Northwest scene and Lifestyle sections.
